Situated in a private walled estate home to The Earl & Countess of Derby, Knowsley Hall is surrounded by 2,500 acres of beautiful parkland and can be hired exclusively for private events.
The Venue
With parts of the building dating back to the 1500s, Knowsley Hall is bursting with history. With architectural and interior influences from the Georgian, Jacobean, Baroque and Victorian eras, there is something unique to catch your eye around every corner. But don’t be fooled by the traditional exterior. Of course, we love nothing more than to transport you through history on your visit, but we also promise to delight your taste buds by bringing an ever-changing modern menu to the table.

Tucked away in the heart of the Estate, Knowsley Hall is the only stately home in Merseyside, making it the perfect place to celebrate those extra special occasions.
Group Sizes
Knowsley Hall is the ideal place to host special events and exclusive dining experiences in our private dining room. Host a drinks reception, awards dinner, celebrate a milestone birthday party, host a charity awards dinner or impress clients with a black-tie corporate dining event in the privacy of your own country house. We can accommodate up to 132 guests for a seated meal and up to 200 guests for a drinks reception.
With grand decor everywhere you look, Knowsley Hall exudes the opulence you deserve for an exclusive private dinner. Depending on the type of celebration you are looking for we have a selection of dining areas to choose from. The Stucco Ballroom with its gold encrusted ceiling is sure to impress your guests and there is a light, airy feeling about the room.
The State Dining Room has an air of grandeur that will make you feel like royalty. Perfect for special occasions, The State Dining Room with its huge antique chandelier and portraits of the family make this a magnificent room to dine in for a special occasion.
For more intimate dining celebrations, the Breakfast Room that can seat up to 36 guests is ideal and overlooks our beautiful manicured gardens.
The Food
Celebrating a cultivation of local seasonal ingredients, our menus are expertly designed by the Head Chef to the Knowsley Estate and courteously served by our attentive waiting staff. With bright fresh flavours gracing the summer menu to warm, comforting dishes throughout the winter, our chefs really know how to showcase the best ingredients the season has to offer.
We want everyone who dines with us to enjoy a meal they won’t forget, that’s why we offer plenty of choices for everyone. From plant-based and vegetarian dishes to meat and seafood, we have ensured there is something on the menu that everyone can enjoy. The food was out of this world, we had several guests with special dietary requirements and Chef went out of his way to ensure that not only were their needs were met but they also had an amazing meal without feeling in any way that they were a bother.
