Merseyside’s grand stately home, Knowsley Hall will be opening its exquisitely manicured gardens for an exclusive Garden Picnic on Saturday 21st June.
Knowsley Hall gardens, on the Earl and Countess of Derby’s private estate, last opened to the public in 2021. The Garden Picnic will provide guests with a unique opportunity to explore the private gardens.
The stunning gardens and parkland were essentially created by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown around 1775-6.
The Knowsley Estate Parks and Gardens team has created two walking guides for visitors to explore the gardens with a 20 minute or 40 minute route.
Prepared by the Knowsley Hall Chefs, guests will be presented with an individual Knowsley Hall picnic box, children are also welcome and can enjoy a delightful picnic box containing wraps, sweet treats plus a fruit pot, and a bottle of water. Gluten Free, vegetarian and vegan picnic options are available upon request. Click here to see the picnic box menu
Entertainment will be provided by a DJ on the Terrace playing background music and your favourite summer songs with the opportunity to play garden games and mini golf. In addition, guests can take advantage of the pop-up garden bar which will be full stocked and serving a special G&T, made from the Estate’s limited-edition Knowsley Walled Garden Gin. This exclusive gin is created with a perfect blend of fragrant botanicals – including elderflower, lavender, mint, and lemons – all sourced from Knowsley Estate’s Walled Garden and distilled and bottled in Liverpool. The pop-up garden bar is card payment only.
A limited number of chairs and tables will be available on Knowsley Hall’s Terrace but guests are welcome – and encouraged – to bring folding chairs, gazebos or picnic blankets to ensure their comfort to enjoy the day.
Ticket price includes:
Tickets cost £37.50pp (adult) and £25pp (child) children under 3 free
This is a strictly ticketed-only event with limited places, there will be no tickets available on the day so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment! Gates to the Estate will open at 11am and the event closes at 4pm.
