Lisa & Geoff’s fifties inspired wedding theme at Knowsley Hall
These delicious treats look the part for Christmas. They’re like little snowballs but made from chocolate. They’re not just any truffle, these are white chocolate gin and tonic truffles.
Gingerbread is a fantastic Christmas treat. It tastes amazing and it is also great fun to make and is something you can involve the whole family with. Whether you are getting some help with the mixing and rolling or cutting shapes and decorating they’re as fun to make as they are to eat!
Brussel sprout, you are sentenced to being boiled to within an inch of your life on Christmas day. Our executive chef Paul Macnish shows us how to overcome the tradition of overcooked, bad smelling sprouts and then take them to a whole new level. Even if you don’t like them, still do them Paul’s way so they at least look great on the table this Christmas. But rest assured, you’ll agree they’re delicious.
Without a doubt, carrots are a firm favourite at any meal. They’re likely to be one of the most popular vegetables and their versatility sees them in dishes from cake to Sunday roast. One meal they certainly can’t be missed is Christmas lunch.
Roast Parsnips have a similar relationship with our menus as Brussel sprouts; they come out once a year and are cooked as a traditional courtesy. They’re not a nod to a time gone by, their sweet taste is a robust flavour to add to any meal.
When it comes to flavour, there aren’t many drinks that pack the punch of a Bloody Mary. If your entertaining this Christmas and you’d like to include something extra special for your drinks menu then show off with this and you’ll be sure to impress.
Making your own gravy is a great way to make sure your Christmas lunch is packed with flavour. The flavour from roasting the chicken or turkey is what forms the base of your gravy.
As well as being a tasty accompaniment to your Christmas lunch, bread sauce is the butter for your sandwiches the next day. Like cranberry sauce, this is another really easy recipe and you’ll find it is better than a packet or jar if you prepare your own.
Mulled wine can be bought ready-made, however, make it yourself and the flavour, sweetness and quality is in your hands. If you have never made your own mulled wine before, then Christmas 2016 just had an upgrade because we’re going to show you how to do it yourself.
